Founded in 1121, the Cistercian abbey of La Crête is the second daughter of the abbey of Morimond.
It prospered in the Middle Ages, founding several monasteries, including Saint-Benoît-en-Woëvre and Les Feuillants.
Rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century, the abbey underwent significant architectural modifications.
After the French Revolution, the abbey church and the cloister were destroyed, leaving only the gatehouse and the bridge over the Rognon, both listed as historic monuments.
Today, these remains bear witness to the historical and spiritual importance of the abbey of La Crête.
