A commune in the Vosges (88800) with 200 inhabitants, located north of Vittel.
Norroy-sur-Vair, a former medieval seigneury, still bears traces of a feudal past in its old stones and remains of fortifications. Ravaged in the 17th century by the troubles of the Thirty Years' War, the village survived despite destruction and a decimated population. The Revolution of 1789 gave it a new administrative lease of life, making Norroy a commune in its own right. In the 19th century, the village woke up, benefiting from agricultural and artisanal modernization. The wars of the 20th century, however, left their indelible mark, honored by war memorials, a reminder of the tumultuous history that shaped the soul of Norroy-sur-Vair.
