A hiking trail of about 10 km starting from the Fort de Bourlémont marked with a blue circle passes in front of these ruins covered by vegetation.
The ruins of the former Saint-Jacques priory bear witness to the religious and cultural history of a bygone era.
Founded in the Middle Ages, the priory housed a community of monks who played an important role in the spiritual and economic life of the region, welcoming pilgrims and administering the surrounding lands.
Like many religious establishments, it was violently affected by the French Revolution, symbolizing the rejection of the influence of the Church in society.
In 1793, the priory was destroyed in the context of the revolutionary seizures, marking the end of its presence and leaving behind the remains of its medieval architecture, recalling its former splendor and the imprint of medieval faith in the landscape.
