Saint Restitue is a Christian martyr whose history is poorly documented. According to tradition, she lived in North Africa in the 3rd or 4th century and was persecuted under the Roman emperors for her faith. Refusing to renounce Christianity, she is said to have suffered various tortures before being executed, probably by beheading. Her cult has developed particularly in Italy, notably in Naples, where her relics are said to have been transferred. In France, she is venerated in certain regions, including Lorraine, where her name appears in local devotions. She is invoked against persecution and suffering.
