Saint Remigius (c. 437-13 january 533) was Bishop of Reims and is best known for having baptized Clovis, King of the Franks, on 25 december 496. Into the hightest levels of Gallo-Roman society, he became bishop at 22 years old. A great preacher, he contributed to the evangelization of Gaul. He performed several miracles according to tradition, notably by restoring sight to a blind man. After his death, he was venerated as a saint and his relics were preserved in Reims.
