This stained glass window celebrates Saint Mansuy, first bishop of Toul and evangelist of Lorraine.
This stained glass window depicts Saint Mansuy, the first bishop of Toul and one of the apostles of the Christian faith in Lorraine. Saint Mansuy is depicted standing, in traditional episcopal attire: a mitre decorated with a cross and a red cope. He holds a pastoral staff (crosier), symbol of his role as bishop and spiritual guide. At his feet, a young man stretches out his arms towards him, perhaps seeking a blessing or spiritual help. The color palette highlights rich and bright hues, such as red, blue and touches of gold. The geometric patterns and fluid lines, typical of the 1950s, structure the scene while adding dynamism. The inscription “St Mansuy” identifies the main character.
