Germanus of Auxerre (Saint-Germain)

Saint Germanus of Auxerre, born around 380 into a noble Gallo-Roman family, was first a noble Roman jurist before becoming Bishop of Auxerre in 418 against his will. Known for his courage and faith, he distinguished himself through his missions in Britain, fighting the Pelagian heresy with eloquence. He traveled constantly to preach and strengthen the Christian faith. A wonderworker and spiritual strategist, he died in 448 in Ravenna, leaving a legacy of devotion and piety.
