Commune of the Vosges (88140) with 50 inhabitants.
Urville, a commune of the Vosges, has a rich history dating back to the Ancien Régime. At that time, it depended on the bailiwick of Neufchâteau and the barony of Beaufremont. The patronage of the cure belonged to the lord of Beaufremont, and the tithe was shared between the canons of Bourmont, the local lord and the priest.
From 1790 to the year X (1802), Urville was part of the canton of Vrécourt. Subsequently, it was integrated into the canton of Bulgnéville.
Over the centuries, the population of Urville has seen a notable decline. In 1793, the commune had 458 inhabitants.
