Commune of Vosges (88630) of 40 inhabitants
The
name
of
Seraumont,
meaning
"on
high
mountain",
reflects
its
elevated
position
on
the
Lorraine
plateau.
In
the
18th
century,
Seraumont
depended
on
the
generality
of
Metz
and
the
bailiwick
of
Toul.
Its
church
was
then
an
annex
of
that
of
Vaudeville,
located
in
the
neighboring
department
of
Meuse.
The
communal
washhouse,
built
in
1863,
is
a
building
representative
of
the
hydraulic
policy
of
the
Second
Empire.
In
2021,
restoration
work
was
undertaken
to
preserve
this
heritage.
