Commune
of
the
Vosges
(88630)
with
490
inhabitants.
Moncel-sur-Vair
is
a
commune
whose
history
has
been
marked
by
several
events,
particularly
during
the
wars.
During
the
First
World
War,
the
village
suffered
significant
destruction,
like
many
localities
in
the
region,
due
to
its
proximity
to
the
combat
zones.
Traces
of
these
events
are
still
visible
in
some
of
the
village's
buildings
and
memorials.
Over
the
previous
centuries,
Moncel-sur-Vair
was
influenced
by
periods
of
unrest
and
conflict,
but
was
able
to
rebuild
itself
and
preserve
its
heritage.
Today,
the
commune
maintains
a
peaceful
living
environment,
while
still
bearing
the
history
of
these
trials.
