Louis Bossu Chapel of Jainvilotte

The Notre-Dame-de-Pitié Chapel, also known as the Louis Bossu Chapel, is a religious building located in Jainvillotte.
Built in the 14th century, it was erected by the inhabitants in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for her intercession during a particularly virulent plague epidemic.
In 1897, the chapel was restored by Louis Bossu, public prosecutor and local historian, who was the owner.
This restoration preserved the Gothic architecture of the building, characterized by a ribbed vault and limestone walls.
The chapel houses a statue of the Virgin of Pity, testifying to the local devotion to Notre-Dame-de-Pitié.
It constitutes an important element of the religious heritage of Jainvillotte.
