Illoud, a French commune located in the department of Haute-Marne, is particularly renowned for its contribution to the cheese industry.
In 1956, Jean-Noël Bongrain created the famous cheese Caprice des Dieux in the family cheese dairy.
This innovation marked the beginning of the cheese specialty and the foundation of the specialty strategy of the Bongrain Group, which later became the Savencia Group.
Today, the commune is home to La Divine Fromagerie.
