Bourmont, St Joseph - stained glass window
Stained glass window located above the entrance to Saint-Joseph Church.
This rose window, towering above the nave, captures the light. Composed of sixteen radiating lancets, it shines forth from a central core adorned with medallions and lobed rosettes arranged in concentric circles. Each lancet, shaped like an elongated drop, is decorated with an interlacing of stylized geometric and floral motifs. The dominant colors are deep blue, radiant gold, vivid red, and emerald green. The stained glass is entirely ornamental. It expresses an abstract language, almost musical in its repetitions and variations. This rose window, towering above the nave, captures the light.
