Noah is a biblical figure. He is an important figure in Judaism and Christianity and is considered a prophet by Islam. His story is recounted in the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, and the Quran. According to Genesis, God commands him to build an ark to escape the flood and save his family and a pair of each animal species. After 40 days of rain, the ark floats on the waters covering the earth. After several months, the dove returns with an olive leaf, a sign that the Flood has ended. Noah and his family leave the ark, and God makes a covenant with him, symbolized by the rainbow. He dies at the age of 950, according to Genesis.
