This stained-glass window from 1900 depicts Saint Paul and Saint Joseph. It was donated by the Mahalin family.
This is a double-barreled stained-glass window with two vertical lancets, surmounted by a quatrefoil oculus. The window is dated 1900 and attributed to a family donation, according to the inscription "Gift of the Mahalin family." The two panels depict two haloed male figures. They stand beneath a neo-Gothic architectural canopy. On the left, Saint Paul holds a long sword pointed toward the ground, which he grips tightly. This symbol is the mark of his martyrdom by beheading, which occurred in Rome around the year 67. Saint Paul is depicted as a mature, bearded man, wearing a red cloak and a beige tunic. On the right, Saint Joseph is recognizable by the fleur-de-lis he holds in his right hand: this white lily is the symbol of his purity. He wears a white tunic and a red cloak. Note that his face is young. The style is neo-Gothic in its architectural form, with canopies, pinnacles, and small columns, but academic in the rendering of the faces and the folds of the clothing. The solid green background allows the figures to stand out clearly. Above, a small floral quatrefoil illuminates the scene. It represents a stylized rose window. This is a double-barreled stained-glass window with two vertical lancets, surmounted by a quatrefoil oculus.
