This stained glass window depicts two complementary scenes: a celestial female figure in prayer and an earthly woman instructing children in the faith.
This stained glass window is divided into two main lancets, surmounted by a tympanum decorated with colorful motifs. On the left: A female figure, haloed and dressed in green and purple, stands in prayer on a cloud. This is surely the Virgin. She is surrounded by children or young figures in prayer, dressed in simple and colorful clothing. On the right: An older woman, wearing a white headdress, extends her hand towards children kneeling or standing in an attitude of humility and listening. The clothing, both traditional and simple, evokes a rural scene or a family situation. The lower part, in the lower register of the lancets, is decorated with figures standing in Gothic niches, holding phylacteries with Latin inscriptions. The artistic style of this stained glass window is part of a 19th century tradition. The bright and contrasting colours (green, red, blue) play a role in highlighting the characters and scenes. The drapes of the clothes are fluid, giving realism to the postures and expressions. The composition in two lancets parallels spiritual themes (on the left) and human themes (on the right). The angels or holy figures in the Gothic niches of the lower register reinforce the idea of a celestial hierarchy. The phylacteries add a verbal dimension to the visual message, addressing the faithful directly. This stained glass window is divided into two main lancets, surmounted by a tympanum decorated with colorful motifs.
