This stained glass window represents Saint Nicholas, a popular character in Lorraine.
The stained glass window is organized around a central medallion, where Saint Nicholas appears, surrounded by a Gothic ornamental decoration composed of floral motifs, bunches of grapes and stylized foliage. The episcopal crosier, held in the left hand, identifies Saint Nicholas as a bishop, symbol of his spiritual authority and his pastoral role. The three purses or golden balls, in his right hand, recall the legendary story where he saved three young girls from poverty by offering them a dowry, thus avoiding their servitude. The mitre he wears, decorated and imposing, confirms his ecclesiastical dignity. His face: Saint Nicholas is represented with an expression of calm and wisdom, a full beard and features marked by spiritual authority, in accordance with hagiographic tradition.
