Commune of the Vosges (88800) with 220 inhabitants
Around 1280, the village belonged to the Dames de Bouxières. The lordship of Saint-Remimont was under the authority of the Duke of Lorraine and, in 1751, it came under the bailiwick of Neufchâteau.
Between the 1820s and 1920s, coal mines were exploited intermittently by different companies, testifying to a notable industrial activity in the region.
The Saint-Rémi church, built in the 18th century, houses funerary steles of the Serocourt family, a statue of Saint Rémi classified as a historic monument, a high relief representing the donation of the rosary to Saint Dominic and Saint Catherine of Siena, as well as carved wooden panels illustrating the baptism of Clovis.
