Commune of Meuse (55140) of 80 inhabitants
Brixey-aux-Chanoines is a village with a rich medieval past, once linked to a chapter of canons who owned land there and exercised a notable influence.
The commune also takes its name from this religious affiliation, which marked its history and development.
Over time, Brixey-aux-Chanoines came under the tutelage of the Duchy of Lorraine before being integrated into France in the 18th century.
