This stained glass window, in a modern style, commemorates the proclamation of the dogma of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in 1950.
This modern-style stained-glass window commemorates the proclamation of the dogma of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. The window consists of a vertical, semicircular panel. Its geometric composition frames a central figurative scene. In the center, the Virgin Mary, with outstretched arms, is crowned with twelve stars (cf. Revelation 12:1), and is dressed in light blue and white. She is flanked by two angels with red wings and purple robes, their hands clasped. At her feet, we see a large white fleur-de-lis, a symbol of her purity. The background is made of radiant abstract lines in yellow, red, and white.
