This stained glass window represents the baptism of Christ.
This "pentalobe" stained glass window is composed of five main lobes around a central scene. At the top, an upper lobe houses the figure of God the Father, while the four lateral and lower lobes present angels in adoration. The perfect symmetry and bright colors give the whole a visual harmony and a strong spirituality. Although a little damaged by time, the central scene presents The Baptism of Christ On the left, the figure of John the Baptist is recognizable thanks to his rudimentary tunic and his gesture: he pours water with a conch or a container, a traditional symbol of baptism. In the center, Jesus Christ is dressed in a red cloak, the color of passion and royalty. His humble posture manifests the acceptance of this baptism, which inaugurates his public mission. On the right, a green-robed serving angel stands ready, carrying a unfortunately illegible phylactery This central scene faithfully illustrates the Baptism of Christ in the waters of the Jordan (Matthew 3, Mark 1, Luke 3), a key moment when the Trinity is revealed.
