This stained glass window illustrates the baptism of Jesus by Saint John the Baptist.
This stained-glass window is set within a typical Gothic pointed arch, with a leafy scroll border and a palette of reds, greens, golds, and blues. The eye is drawn to the central oval, framed by a Baroque gilded frieze depicting the scene of Christ's baptism. In the center, Jesus, head bowed and hands clasped, bows before John the Baptist, his cousin, who pours water on his forehead. Christ is dressed in a simple red loincloth. John the Baptist, also wearing a halo, holds a long, thin cross, a prophetic emblem, and a phylactery wrapped around it. Above them, the Holy Spirit descends in the form of a radiant dove. To the left, three angels witness the scene, holding Christ's garments.
