Our Lady of Loreto. Gift of Madame de Bonneval.
Beneath an ogival bay window, a spectacular stained-glass window is revealed. In the center, enthroned against a deep blue starry background, stands Our Lady of Loreto, crowned, with the Infant Jesus on her left arm. Her white cloak, adorned with liturgical and heraldic symbols, covers her entirely in a hieratic, almost architectural verticality. The Child, also crowned, blesses with his right hand. Framed by two neo-Gothic architectural pavilions, the Virgin is part of a composition similar to a trompe-l'oeil sculpted altarpiece. Two grisaille angels, standing at the sides, present phylacteries. At the base of the stained-glass window, a coat of arms occupies the central section.
