Saint-Martin Church

This stained glass window combines two essential moments in the life of Christ: the Presentation in the Temple and the Resurrection.

The stained glass window consists of two narrative registers, framed by a rich decorative border. The upper register represents the Resurrection of Christ. Jesus, surrounded by light, triumphs over death. He is standing, wrapped in a purple cloak and holding a cross as a standard. At his feet, terrified and stunned Roman soldiers, unable to contain this mystery. The lower register illustrates the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple. Mary and Joseph present the baby Jesus to the priest Simeon. At their side, Anna the prophetess is present, symbolizing the culmination of the old alliance and the announcement of the new. A central medallion links the two scenes, with an angel in prayer, symbolizing heavenly intercession and the continuity between the two biblical stories.
