This stained glass window represents the apparition of Christ to the Sacred Heart at Sainte-Marguerite-Marie-Alacoque.
This stained-glass window, probably signed J. Benoît, Nancy, 1952, depicts an apparition of Christ with the Sacred Heart to a nun, almost certainly identifiable as Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a Visitandine of Paray-le-Monial, a central figure in the cult of the Sacred Heart in the 17th century. At the top left, the glorious Christ, haloed, dressed in very pale green and red, stands on stylized clouds. He points with his hand to his flaming heart, surrounded by thorns, surmounted by a radiant cross, a classic iconography of the Sacred Heart. The whole is framed by a mandorla of golden rays. At the bottom right, the nun in a black habit, white veil, and turquoise halo is kneeling. She holds up an image representing This Flaming Heart. At his feet, one can see a tiled carpet with golden lilies on an azure background.
