Does your screen seem too bright? Too dark?
Here are three test patterns to help you check that your screen is properly calibrated.
Start with test pattern 1 and finish with 3!
At a minimum, you can adjust the brightness to unblock the blacks.
At a maximum, with a colorimetric probe, you can calibrate and then characterize your screen to
- unblock the blacks (screen brightness adjustment)
- unblock the whites (screen contrast adjustment)
- remove the dominant grayscale (screen R G B channel adjustments)
- characterize the screen (with your colorimetric probe) to obtain an Icc profile.
Note: the blacks of the stereoscopic 3D photos on this site are a little lightened, because the 3D vision does not work on areas that are too dark and break the immersion effect.
