Saint-Sulpice Church

This stained glass window represents the last communion of Saint Joan of Arc.

This stained-glass window consists of two vertical lancets, topped with openwork patterns adorned with fleur-de-lis motifs. The main scene occupies the entire width of the lancets and stands out against an architectural setting of a prison. On the left, Joan of Arc kneels with clasped hands, wearing a white robe, a halo of gold, and a chain bound her wrists. Two soldiers stand guard beside her. On the right, a tonsured priest hands the consecrated host to Joan and holds the chalice in his other hand. A monk observes the scene, and another kneeling priest holds a candle. The inscriptions at the bottom are "Last Communion of Saint Joan of Arc," "Grateful Gérard Family," and "Benoit Brother Nancy."
