This stained glass window depicts Joan of Arc's vision where saints order her to liberate France.
This stained glass window represents the vision of Joan of Arc where saints order her to liberate France. The stained glass window is organized into three registers. In the upper register, a cartouche decorated with arms and golden lilies, symbolizes Joan's divine and royal mission. In the central register, we observe the main scene, where Joan of Arc, kneeling, receives a vision of saints and angels. Finally, in the lower register, a coat of arms and an inscription recalls the divine origin of her mission and the saints who appeared to her. "The archangel St. Michael, St. Catherine, St. Margaret order to go to France to the aid of the king". The style of the stained glass window, both realistic and ornate, probably dates from the 19th century, a period when the cult of Joan of Arc was largely rehabilitated in France, particularly after her beatification (1909) and canonization (1920).This stained glass window represents the vision of Joan of Arc where saints order her to liberate France.
